NER: Freaking out about my kitten

I am trying to get ready for a gtg at my house tonight in a mad dash, and I noticed that Sophie (kitten) is bleeding from her bottom. ?It wasn't too much, and I thought we'd just keep an eye on her (irritation, or something), and then I looked again later and it was more blood, and almost something sticking out of her bottom (sorry, that's gross). ?So I called the vet and they said to bring her in. ?DH has gone to the e-vet so that I could stay home and get ready, but now I don't want anyone to come over! ?I'm totally upset about Sophie and totally called my mom in tears.

I know, it's a cat, but seriously I will be heartbroken if anything bad happens to her! ?What will her brother Max do without her?!

Thanks for letting me vent. ?I am a crazy cat lady.?

Re: NER: Freaking out about my kitten

  • Don't feel silly! I would feel the same way about my cats. I hope she's OK! Since you took her to the vet right away, I bet they'll be able to get her fixed up.

  • You know, it's probably just something like hemroids - they need to take care of it asap, but it's relatively easy to do so.

Have you heard any more yet?

Who's coming over?  Close friends or more acquaintances?  Close friends will probably help.

  • I hope kitty Sophie will be okay. At least you got her to the vet quickly.

Please give us an update when you get a chance.

Please give us an update when you know more and can. I hope little Sophie is OK.

  • It can be really scary when you're worried about your pets =( one time my kitty had blood as what looked like a tear from her eye and I panicked. I had just got out of the shower and ran her right to the vet, wet hair and all. Baby kittens eat all sorts of things they shouldn't, I'm sure your little one will be fine.
  • Hemorrhoids or did she eat something (not to freak you out, but maybe she caught something or something non-living that could be scratching her)?  Hope she is better soon.

I hope she's ok! Let us know!

  • You guys are so awesome!!

DH had to wait forever, and finally got her seen at like 7:30. ?The vet thought what she has is a benign polyp that should be okay on its own, but if not can be removed when she's spayed. ?It can apparently just become irritated and bleed a little. ??

It was close friends who came over, so that worked out well. ?I'm so glad she's okay!

Thanks so much for letting me vent and being so sweet about Sophie!?

  • I'm glad to hear she's ok. ?Bunny, that is a?completely?normal reaction.
  • Awww Bunny....I'm glad she's okay!
And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
  • I'm glad she's ok! I would freak out, too. Our pets are like our children.

  • yay for kitty being ok. Is it near her anal glands? You might keep her on canned food for a few days so her poos are softer.

  • Glad to hear that Sophie is okay!

  • YAY! Glad to hear she's ok! I would have been freaking out too!
