Organizing Make-up

So, ladies, how do you organize your make up? I'd like to try something different than my black train case, which I've had since high school (http://tinyurl.com/2eb3hd9). Our bathroom is tiny, so I'd like to keep it in our bedroom where it is currently.

 Thanks in advance!

Re: Organizing Make-up

  • I keep a small bag of my everyday essentials on the vanity.  All of the extra stuff (darker shadows, extra liners, a million lipglosses, etc) go into a small rubbermaid three drawer thing. I keep it in my closet on a shelf and I keep eye makeup in one, lip gloss/stick/liner in another, and all other types in the third (foundation, bronzer, blush).

  • If it ain't broke, don't fix it! ;) Is there a reason you need to try new storage other than the fact you've had the traincase for a while? I ask because I have kept my makeup in a traincase for years and don't plan to change that... unless I have to expand to 2 traincases!
  • I have a built in vanity with 3 drawers in it.  I purchased some kitchen flatware organizers and they work perfectly in each drawer.  I also purge my makeup quite often.  If I havent used it in a year it needs to go.

this is basically what i do.... i put cutlery organizers into my grandmother's antique vanity and it keeps all my makeup very organized and clean- no spills.  i also don't keep alot of extras- i have my everyday makeup, and a few for halloween costumes and that's it!

  • I have utensil organizers and spice rack drawer organizers in my bathroom to hold all my make-up and my tools.  DH and I are lucky, we each have a bathroom (he has the small master shower bathroom and I have the full main bathroom).  I'm going to hate it someday when I actually have to share!!

Try going to Lowe's or Ikea and see what they have for organizers.  I'm sure there are some great options out there, it just depends on how much money you want to spend.
