Husband cleaned oven w/ Fantastik
Help. We have a self-cleaning oven and my hubby took it upon himself to saturate the interior with Fantastik. We wiped it out thoroughly with water, but the odor is horrible. What to do??

I would do a water/white vinegar mixture at least 2 more time to rinse the interior, then leave the door open with your range fan on- go run errands for a few hours and hope it's better.
Probably not super helpful, but GL!
This might be just a myth, BUT I've heard from many people that you shouldn't ever use the self cleaning function on ovens. My coworker actually just melted her control wiring this week and had to spend hundreds to get it repaired. Just because it has the function doesn't mean it's a good option unfortunately.
I'd look into it before running that... better safe than sorry is my motto so I've never run mine and just clean as needed.
Say what??? I get that things happen, but the option is there for a reason. It's not something you do regularly but it does work for it's intended purpose.
As for the Fantastik..just keep wiping it out with a damp vinegar water rag and leave the oven door open for awhile. It'll be fine. Don't run the self clean cycle with the Fantastik though...it's a chemical heat reaction that you don't want.
i agree with pp about using vinegar and water, and leaving door open to air out. at this point, definitely don't run the self-cleaner- it won't smell pretty or be safe with the Fantastik in it.
as far as the self-clean being un-safe.....that's crazy. there must have been something wrong with that particular stove to cause the wires to burn. i run mine a few times a year and have never had any problems- they are made to withstand those high temperatures. however, i should also mention that you are not supposed to use any commercial cleaners in a self-clean oven- ever.
