Weight Watchers Question

For those of you that are doing / have done WW

Do you do the on-line only program or go to meetings?

I did WW online a few years ago to get in shape for my wedding. I lost 17 pounds and was in the best shape I have ever been in.

Then  I got married, moved to another state  (I lived in NY & my husband lived in SC while we were dating/engaged), got a new job and  basically  completely changed my routine /lifestyle.

Needless to say I put all 17 pounds back on and then some.

I need to do something and I'm considering trying the meetings this time.  If you go to the mtgs do you think that really helps keep you motivated and on plan?

 Thanks

Re: Weight Watchers Question

  • I am at goal having lost 42 pounds with Weight Watchers.  I go to my meeting every week.  I find it really helps me to keep focused.  Our group also exchanges recipes and food finds frequently.  Our meeting leader lost 85 pounds six years ago and says she still goes to a meeting (as a participant, not a leader) every week.
  • I like the meetings. I actually do it at work, which is really awesome. I think it helps me stay more accountable than I would be on my own.

  • I agree about the accountability.  I tried to just do it online about 6 months ago and quit after two weeks.  I am now attending meetings again and have lost 9 lbs in 3 weeks.

  • I do WW just online. I like it because I'm cheap.

I stay accountable because I'm cheap. So far I've lost 36 lbs, and feeling great. At this point I don't need the money guilt to help with accountability as much.  When I get closer to goal I might go to meetings to try to get lifetime, but I have to read more about the benefits.

  • Thanks, I think I'll give the meetings a try.  It was easy to do the online only when it was just me but I need more help this time.  Too many opportunities to screw it up going out to dinner, parties etc.
  • An especially good idea since we are now entering "hurricane season" - Halloween through New Year's Eve.
