Albums

Is anyone DIY? If so, which site/service are you using?

I'm torn between Picaboo, Inkubook and Blurb.

Re: Albums

  • We are going to use shutterfly, mainly because they are the only site I've ever actually SEEN the product from before.  I already started making one and I really like how it works.  I'm sure the others are good though.

  • If we decide to DIY we will use Shutterfly.  I made a book of our engagement photos using their site and I don't have any complaints about it.  I love the way it looks and the price was great!

  • I used Blurb for our photo guest book.  It was really easy to use and came out pretty nicely, though I didn't use the high-quality paper ('cause I'm a cheapo).  The regular quality paper is definitely not nice enough for a wedding album, and I'm a little apprehensive to just go with Blurb since I don't know what the other quality paper will look like.

I've seen a lot of recs between TN and TK recently talking about mpix.  I think I might look into that one before I make a final call.

  • We are making parent albums on mpix
  • As far as online places, I used Shutterfly for my engagement photo guest book. I also have heard good things about mpix.

Personally, I am a scrapbooker, so I have an album that I will hopefully start putting together before Christmas. That's the hope anyway. :)

  • The speaker at my photo club last month was talking about online services and she uses blurb.  I didn't make that meeting because we were on our honeymoon so I didn't get to see anything hands on.

  • I have never even heard of these albums sites until about a week ago. Obviously I'm not very good at this stuff but I am going to try shuttefly because thats the only I have ever heard of.

  • Shutterfly. I used them for my photo thank you cards and they are awesome. They will even design the whole book for you. Sign up for an account and you will get coupons emailed to you.
  • Check out mypublisher.com. My photographer uses them, and my friend did her own for her wedding. It came out awesome.

  • Also a scrapbooker, so I'll be living at Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Archivers for the next 6 months.

But I got a free book from Shutterfly (from weddingchannel.com for rating my vendors and writing reviews) and I will give it to MIL.  I've always loved their final product.

  • We use Snapfish which is the same as Shutterfly.  Just got done doing our wedding album.  Too many pics to add in the honeymoon...so that will be a different album.

    Have fun!
