1st Anniversary
What did you do for your first anniversary?
My DH and I were thinking that instead of a tangible gift we would like to do a couples day at the spa. When we got talking though, we were wondering if we would be sad as wel got older not having a tangible gift to say "this was from our first anniversary" ... I'm not sure yet what is best for us, but was curious how you all celebrated?
Our anniversary is the weekend before Thanksgiving...so excited!
Re: 1st Anniversary
Congrats! DH and I got each other "paper" gifts - I got a paper cutting made from one of our wedding pics (it's much nicer than it sounds!!) and he got me a print of a painting of a bellydancer. Neither one were very costly.
then we spent a weekend at a B&B in Warwick, NY.
Im a newlywed, and havent had my 1 year yet - but when we do, we'll probably write each other love letters/get cards (thats more our style) and then either go to a bed and breakfast OR back to the resort in Mexico where we got married.
I would love a couples massage and a b&b honestly.
You dont need an "object" to attach to the day, just your love!
Congrats on your anniversary! For our first anniversary (which is supposed to be a paper gift), I got DH a paper cut made of one of our wedding photos. At Mrs. Kocal?s recommendation I ordered it from this guy: http://papercutsbyjoe.com/.
It was so awesome! Here is a pic of our paper cut. DH also had our florist recreate my wedding boquet. It was so amazing. Rose from Designs by Rose drove it over to house in NJ to hand deliver it!

DH really doesn't like getting presents. He'll get flowers, balloons or a card. So, we decided we would buy presents for us for celebrations like a new piece of furniture, house deco, sports stuff. We went to the wineries on the North Fork of LI. We have a lot of pictures and took home some wine and crafts.

For our 1 year anniversary we went back to our honeymoon destination (Disney World). But, then again, we've gone there a million times, so any excsue to go to DW! lol

We had gotten married in Maine at the cottage where we vacation every year. We went to the restaurant where we hosted our wedding dinner and had a nice romantic dinner. We didn't really exchange gifts. We bought a few "1st Anniversay" items, such as a frame, a bell and a statue that looked somewhat like us.
