has anyone done this?
i know how to crochet and want to make some scarves for christmas, but the yarn i bought last night (which i thought would make awsome scarves) is a PITA to work with!!!
anyone has advice as to what type of yarn would be best to work with?
Re: crocheting a scarf
I haven't crocheted a scarf, but I knit like whoa! I would say use something pretty basic ... something that doesn't look to split easily. I HEAVILY recommend Cascade 220 ... best yarn in the freaking universe and relatively cheap! It also doesn't split a whole lot.
You on ravelry?
I love my puppy ... and my husband, I swear!
It's super easy to learn.
I forgot how to start it so last night I just watch some YouTube videos to refresh my memory on it!
I bought the fuzzy yarn yesterday since it would be really warm and nice feeling, which I guess isn't the best to work with...if you're not really experienced.
never heard ot it
DO IT NOW OMG. SERIOUSLY.
Have you thought about pairing the fuzzy with something "boring"? It makes it easier to knit with the double strands and all.

I cheat and use a knifty knitter and love it. I plan on learning how to knit, one day but for now, the knifty knitter it is!
I'll check it out!
I've never though of pairing it...hmm, interesting idea!
i second the recommendation for both ravelry and cascade. if you don't want to wait for the cascade to come in (i've only seen it online), lion brand has some good, basic yarns. i only knit, but for beginning, the simpler, the better. but DO invest in good quality. if it's nasty, you won't like it and won't want to keep working on it.

I used to crochet scarves all the time. It was the only thing I remembered how to do (and hats).
Last year I learned to knit. I think I prefer knitting but crocheting is so much faster for me.
