Steam mops?

Do you have one? Do you like it? I asked for recommendations over on cleaning and organizing but didn't get any responses. We're asking for one from my parents for Christmas, so I'd like to know what to ask for!

Re: Steam mops?

  • My mom has a Shark [I think that's what it is] steam mop and LOVES it. That's all they use now. My dad did a deep clean before he left and was amazed at what came up.

I'm asking for one for Christmas, too. :)

  • We have the Bissell steam mop, I love it!  It came with two washable pads, it's easy to fill and the cord is long enough that I can keep it plugged into one for each room (granted our rooms aren't that large, but it was one point we noticed in reviews when we were researching).

  • I got the shark last year for Christmas.  My mom has one and so does my SIL.  We all LOVE them and I would never use anything else.  When we lived in our apartment we had linoleum in our bathroom and my hairspray would leave awful residue on it.  The steam mop took it right off in seconds!

It's great because it takes me about 30 minutes to do all the floors in my house - you can even use it to sanitize your carpet, although I've never done that.

I really can't say enough good things about it other than get it!  :)

  • Thanks ladies! I can't believe that no one on C&O had an rec for me. I just saw a commercial the other night for a steam mop with a vacuum - I think it may have been a Bissel. I'm going to have my mom look out for that one :o)
  • Now I want one! I HATE cleaning my floors downstairs.

    Me too!!

I've got some old nasty looking linoleum in the kitchen and no matter how many times I mop them they still look gross.
