It seemed pretty nutty because it just wasn't our building--a lot of businesses and traffic lights lost power and I guess some streets flooded, too. Our PA system was knocked out so for the first 20 minutes we weren't even aware of any evacuation.
I was at the gym later and they were broadcasting tornado warnings for different areas in VA. Crazy day.
Ah, Jim called me as he was driving in around 12:30 and said we were under a tornado warning. It was black as pitch and pouring rain where we were, but the power stayed on.
We did have a water line break last year some time early one morning. I was first in, emailed and called every one, but still had to stay for about an hour to catch people who were on the train already and send them back home. No potty = no work.

About three years ago we had a transformer blow--building closure for the day, but I'd already made it in by the time I found out.
Apparently we're closed tomorrow, though. All our IT systems are down, too.
This year has been unbelievable in the D.C. area. Snowpocalypse, heat waves, an earthquake, vicious storms (snapping huge trees in Rock Creek Park like twigs), countless power outages, and it's way too warm for October. I'm afraid of whatever's next!
