I will admit it.. I LOVE The Sound of Music. The entire cast is going to be back together on Oprah tomorrow! I am so excited! We don't have DVR so I am totally skipping the gym to watch.
Anyone else excited for this?

Re: Sound of Music
Ohhhhh I HAVE to remember to watch that!! I was very excited when I saw the preview. I looovve TSOM. We used to watch it every Christmas. By "used to" I mean still do, haha.
But it turns out that I didn't see the entire movie until I was probably in late junior high/early high school. My mom always turned it off before the Nazi chase scene through the convent because she thought it would scare us (to be fair, it really probably would have) and I always thought the movie ended there.
I had heard about parents doing that, but I never knew anyone that actually happened to. What did you think was the ending scene?
Whatever happened just before that. It probably didn't make sense, but I didn't get the overall "theme" of the movie even after watching it multiple times over a period of years. I just liked the singing
I remember when I finally "got it" and realized it was about WW2. Made me appreciate it a lot more!
I actually never have either, but I intend to someday.
What?! It's a classic that is a must-see! I can lend you my copy if that's what it takes. Both of you just have to see it!!
When I was a kid, my uncle made a tape of the soundtrack and i used to lie in my room with my headphones on, listening to it and singing every song. I was terrible, but I didn't care because it was TSOM and it just makes you so happy and makes you want to sing!
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with string these are a few of my favorite things....
Oh how I adore this movie! My kids do to! Have to love it! I also love My Fair Lady!
Lololol oh dear. I hate Oprah because she is a tearjerking fiend! I'm pretty sure the few times I watched her show she made me cry. So eff that. I'm not watching.
That and I don't have cable.
