want to laugh at my misery?
I locked myself out of my house in my garage for four hours with no phone, in my pj's, clearly no keys. My husband found me in my car wearing a snuggie, two hats, and socks on my hands. Feel free to laugh, I finally am laughing.

Re: want to laugh at my misery?
aww lol
Reminds me of coming home to find my OOT MIl locked out of our house, no phone, no numbers, for hours until I got home from work. She was washing our windows (crazy lady loves cleaning windows) but managed to get locked out. Poor thing
I did this once! Luckily it was the summer, and a window was open, and we had a chair on the deck. So I, in pajama pants and a boy's wife beater (yes, you could see my nipples), broke into my own house. I now never, ever step outside the house without my phone. I'm a little neurotic about it.
I'm glad you had some warm things and a way to get into your car!
Oh, that's so sad! How did you lock yourself in your garage? Or were you just hanging out in your garage because you were locked out of the house?
Our neighbor has a set of our house keys (and vice versa), so the one time I was locked out of my house without my keys, my neighbors were able to let me in. Thank goodness they were home!
Totally sucky!!
I have done this, but it was when we lived in an apartment and I was parking my car in our garage. You had to get out to open the garage and I locked the doors to my car. Car running, in the middle of the driveway of the parking lot, but somehow I had my phone with me. My sister had a spare set of my car keys, but she was in college at the time and it was a Friday night so she was in no shape to drive. I called another friend who lived in Shakopee, she drove to St. Paul to my sister's to get the keys, then drove to Fridley to bring the keys to me!!! The whole time I was standing outside, in the winter, in my work dress clothes, next to a running car!!
I have done this in our house as well. And because of this, we have a spare house key hidden in our garage. We have a key pad to open the garage door and then if we every lock ourselves out of the house, we have a spare key there for us. It helps if a friend/family member ever stops by and needs to get in to our house as well. We just tell them the garage code and then where to find the key, and they can get in.

I was staying in the car because it was FREEZING! I tried all of our doors and windows and knocked on the doors of the neighbors I know (there is only 3 of them and they were all at work). I have actually locked myself in my garage, last year the door was broken and I locked myself in. My hubby was home though so I didn't stay out there to long.
