Pajama and Doughnut Day

Today is pajama day at Alex's daycare (but we forgot to keep him in his pjs this morning so he's rockin' his "My mommy thinks I'm dino-mite" shirt). It made me want to work at a daycare, seeing all the employees in their pjs. It's doughnut day at my job, so I can't complain too much. It got me wondering though...

Does your work do anything special or out of the ordinary for employees?

Re: Pajama and Doughnut Day

  • No, my work does nothing like this, but now I want to institute pajama AND donut day. I might go talk to my boss about it when she gets in. (Seriously, I might...I work in an on-campus tutoring center, we're all student employees, I don't see any reason why we couldn't have a crazy day...)

  • We do nothing fun here... at my old office we had a "FUN chairperson" who set up bagel days, office bake-offs, "team-building" happy hours, etc.
  • My office sucks. I organized a college basketball poll last year, but our boss won, so he didn't do anything to celebrate the end of it.

This made me lol. Sorry you guys aren't shown the love you deserve at work.

I just got an email that we're having 10-minute chair massages for employee appreciation next month.

I kind of hate you right now

  • When people leave, we get a break to say goodbye and eat cake.  Once they bought stuff for sundaes because we hit our goals. But anything fun is frowned upon because it takes us away from our desks.  In fact, they strive to keep us chained to our desks as much as humanly possible, completely ignoring the fact that it's unhealthy and counterproductive. I love my office.  Confused
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • We have FFF events which most consider to mean Forced Fluckin' Fun.  All "fun" events are mandatory time where a select few drone on about their personal lives and the rest of us sit and pick at a bagel until we are released. And then there are the team events we are supposed to go to off the clock.  No thanks!
