Dentist, UGH!!!

I finally had my dentist appt.  It had been rescheduled 3 times (once by me then twice by the dentist).  I knew I needed some major work done, I have been putting it off until after the wedding.  Well, now the wedding is over and I am facing 2 crowns, a bridge, and a filling!  It's gonna be lots of $$$, my dental insurance is not so good.  It is just so unfair.  I brush, floss, get cleanings every 6 months and I ALWAYS have cavities!  The enamel never formed correctly on my teeth so I am doomed to a life in the dental chair.  The good news, they take Care Credit so I will have a year to pay off the bill Tongue Tied

Re: Dentist, UGH!!!

  • Man, that sucks!!!  You sound like Adam.  He CONSTANTLY has to have work done on his teeth.

  • Lame!! Luckily all the crappy stuff with my teeth happened when I was younger (braces, needed some fake teeth, wisdom teeth out) so my parents paid for  it. Now I just have to worry about my regular cleanings. I was ALWAYS having to pay tons for Brandon's dental work though!

  • I hate the dentist! I haven't been in 2 years. My dentist has called twice in the last 6 months or so wanting me to come in for a cleaning but I keep putting it off. I want to change dentists anyways. The one I go to now is too far of a drive just to get my teeth cleaned.

  • i hate the damn dentist, and you think id be used to it, as a kid i had braces for 4 years! UGH!
  • It's weird, but I actually LOVE going to the dentist.  I fall asleep in the chair quite frequently (even when the dentist is doing fillings).  Last time I had to have a filling done, they had to wedge this little rubber wedge into my teeth to hold my mouth open because I kept falling asleep on them!!

  • You are not alone! I had one Crown and I 3 teeth pulled so I am working on 3 bridges now.  I brush I floss ugh!

Hubby is worse off than me! The only difference is we have great insurance with no limit praise God for that!

  • I hate going to the dentist. HH and I were talking this week that we need to make appts b/c its been about 2 years since we've been. I also need to go to the eye doctor, ugh...i hate having to take off work for crap like that
  • Wow Pak! That's a lot of dental work! There's so much going on, that maybe part of it will be in this plan year and the rest in the next plan year so you can get some more of it covered.

I hate going to the dentist ever since I had a filling and the dentist didn't get me completely numb. Visualize the drill hitting a tooth that isn't numb. Now watch the dentist pull me off the ceiling. I also have TMJ, so I always have to have that block put in my mouth when I'm in for any work other than a cleaning because I can't hold my mouth open far enough or long enough for them to do anything other than a cleaning.

I got my first crown in 2009 - I went in for one and he said "you have two dead teeth"  What?! Indifferent So I had him do it all at once. I had never had anything other than the occasional filling done up to that point. And of course, he didn't believe me when I told him that my regular dentist has to give me anywhere from 3-5 novacaine shots to get me numb. So guess what happened? You can replay the bolded stuff again...twice. Yes, he did it twice!!! I hate dentists!!!!!

That is me!  They just cannot numb my bottom teeth.  I have had up to 5 injections with the last one actually into the hole he was drilling and I still felt it!  I usually let them do 3 injections then I just grab the arms of the chair and tell them to go for it.  I think I financed my dentists new building, LOL!

  • Oh that sucks!  And I think I would die if I couldn't be numbed.
