I thought this point from BMcC deserved its own post.
brideymcbriderson:
He does pal around with terrorists? As in, currently? Do you have a source for that? That's a pretty serious allegation.
I am honestly curious as to what "palling around" involves. When I think "palling around," I think of spending free time together on a regular basis, doing activities of mutual interest, etc. I don't think of serving on a charitable board together. You know, I have yet to hear what evidence has been presented of true "palling around."
I'd like to know what, exactly, you think Obama's relationship to Ayers is/was. From what I understand, they served on the board of an education charity together, and that's it. McCain has repeatedly asserted that Obama started his political career in Ayers living room, but I have yet to see any substantiation of that claim whatsoever. What am I missing?
Re: Conservatives re: Ayers
How about this - the answer is MORE than Obama admits to and LESS than McCain claims.
Okay but how will you know when you have the "real" answer?
Exactly. It's politics, folks. Everyone is, at minimum, exaggerating. Vote for the person you think will do the best job and forget about dissecting the rest of the crap so much.
Well for me personally it is not important. So the "forget about dissecting the rest of the crap" stuff is moreso geared towards the conservatives that believe Ayers is a big deal?

There are other connections between Obama and Ayers: The same year the two men met through the Annenberg Challenge, Ayers hosted a meet-and-greet coffee for Obama, who was running for state Senate and who lived three blocks away from him. Obama and Ayers also were on the board of an antipoverty charity, the Woods Fund of Chicago, where their service overlapped from 2000 to 2002. And Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's campaign for the Illinois state Senate on March 2, 2001.

Yes - not geared towards you!
