Next Kitchen Appliance Purchase?

What is your next kitchen appliance purchase?

I've been eyeing this Keureg coffee brewing system.  Oh, how I want it.  Problem is convincing the hubs that we NEED it.  I'm going with the "it will save us money in the long run" line.  I'll have to keep trying, he's not convinced.

Re: Next Kitchen Appliance Purchase?

  • two weeks ago we purchased a new dishwasher, microwave and range I think I need a new purse, shoes and outfit before we buy anymore!
  • I think I'm good on the appliance front.  I think we may have gone overboard.  I can't think of anything we don't already have.  Including obscure things like wine preservers and soda makers.

Know what I DO want next? A fricking potato masher!  How is it that I don't have a damn potato masher?!?!?!

  • Oh Good Lord, J has a Keurig and to him it is the greatest thing ever. It works well for us because I don't drink coffee and he makes a cup every morning, but it's going to be a huge PITA when we have guests over & I have to dig the regular coffee pot out of the back of the closet.

My next big appliance will probably be a KitchenAid in a few years when we get a house. We just don't have the counter space for it in our apartment, and right now I have my Mom's old Sunbeam mixer which serves it's purpose.

Aside from that, I honestly can't think of anything we *need* since we got everything & more at the shower.. basically too much. Most of our appliances are stored away in the closet due to lack of kitchen space.

I SO get this.  We don't have a pizza cutter.  A pizza cutter!  It's odd how we could be lacking some crucial kitchen utensils.

  • I lurv my potato masher from WS.  Get one!!!

I think we're good on appliances for now too.  The only thing I REALLY want is a grill pan, but I am ok with our Griddler.  We haven't even used all the stuff we got from the wedding yet (ahem, stick blender I thought I couldn't live without).

  • We are in need of a new coffee maker. Our current one decided not to grind beans anymore and shuts off at least 2 or 3 times during the brewing process which is just getting to be plain annoying.
  • I really want a new washer and dryer, those front loading suckers that steam clothes too.  We definitely don't *need* them, but I want them!

  • We're totally set on appliances until we move into a house but we desperately need a new matrress and we want a new tv in the living room. We only have a 32" in the living room and it's way to small for the size of the room. And we are going to upgrade to a king size matress since our queen is falling apart.

I bought one last weekend after making DH mashed potatoes with a whisk.  I don't know how we didn't get one, but we didn't.

As for anything else, we've got too many appliances and not enough countertop.  Or cabinet space.  But we have room to get a microwave cart which will give us more space.  Then we can get a microwave.  It's not as hard as I thought without one, but I really miss the convenience.

We were missing a pizza cutter, too.  It was one of the things on our registry we didn't get, so that was our first "completion discount" purchase!

We will probably get a chest freezer, but that's all we really need.  If H keeps getting deer, we're not going to have anywhere to put the meat!

We have been needing a small one of these for a LONG time. Our freezer is always too full and this time of year with the deer meat we hope to have soon, we need some space. We have to get a 5 cubic feet one or so b/c we just dont' have a place for it though, I wish we had a garage or basement!

I would LOVE a new washer/dryer, but don't NEED it. We just got a new range about 8 months or so ago, so that's good.

  • We rent a teeny little townhouse so I can't wait to have my own kitchen with ALL new appliances. Give me one of e'rything.

Every appliance in my kitchen, save maybe the dishwasher, is from 1987 when the house was built. Yep. That's right. As old as I am.

The dishwasher & w&d mighttt have been brought in in the mid 90s.

I'm going to sounds really cinical here but...

My Keurig only works when it feels like it.  I'm convinced it's just mine though.  I've never seen anyone else's behave badly.

Slap Chop is fun for comedic value.  Otherwise, the stuff gets caught in the blades. Plus it's a *** to clean it out and restart.  We lost a part the first night we got it so maybe we didn't give it a good chance.  A friend gave it to us as a gag gift.

For the money..go to bed bath and beyond and get one of the tiny cheap electric food processors.

  • I personally don't like the Keureg because I do'nt think it provides enough coffee. I love drinking my coffee out of the gigantic mugs and only a traditional coffee pot can do that. Plus it's not very effective for when you have guests over.

Before we get more kitchen appliances we need to get a new washer and dryer. Can we say front loaders?

Then we need a new fridge and oven and I want a KitchenAid Mixer. My mom has one that she never uses so I'll borrow hers until I buy my own. I also want a pizza pan cooker thing so our pizzas aren't soggy and I want a panini maker.

    I totally agree.

That reminds me I do need a coffee carafe or one of those big mamma jamma coffee urns that makes like 40 cups.
