Do any of you ladies watch this show?
John and I love it. It is well written and the actors are super funny. I heard on the radio this morning that the show is getting a lot of complaints b/c ppl say it's "gross" to watch 2 overweight people kiss. A writer (blogger, I think) from Marie Claire magazine wrote recently about how she is totally disgusted by the fact that the 2 main characters are so overweight.
This really fired me up! The show is much more tasteful than other shows on CBS. In this week's episode, they had sex, but the only thing showed was them walking into the bedroom. Unlike 2 and 1/2 men, where they show a shirtless Charlie in bed with a scantly clad flavor of the week. Grr! Why can't people realize that not everyone is a size 0?
(okay, vent over...:stepping off my soapbox:)
Re: Mike and Molly
We like this show too.
I heard that yesterday on the news. People who are overweight, it isnt always bc of over eating. Some people have health issues they cant control.
The woman that opened her mouth needs to think before she opens it next time- if you have nothing nice to say dont say anything at all! Also, she has a choice to not watch the show, since it bothers her so much.
Yeah, someone on the GP board posted the article earlier this week. Here's the link, if you want to read it:

I think the author of this blog post is an idiot. I find it interesting that she has now added an "updated" section, apologizing for what she said and saying that her "overreaction" probably stems from her own struggles with anorexia. Also, if you google "marie claire article about mike and molly," you'll find site after site after site that's responding to (and judging) the original Marie Claire blog piece.

She's blaming her anorexia for being so nasty?! Wow, I mentioned to DH a few days ago when I first heard it and said she herself needed to eat something, she is probably a miserable person who needs to eat something (aka skinny b!tch).
I haven't been able to see it yet and keep forgetting to DVR it, but am dying to watch. I think it's great to see 2 heavier people finally as the stars of the show. I know Billy Gardell from years ago, when he did a few episodes of Yes, Dear and he is the sweetest guy you ever wanted to meet. Instead of criticizing people for their weight, people should just recognize them for their talent.
