Hardwood Table Discoloration
My hardwood table has a weird discoloration/oily-sticky-type spot on it. It got the spot when I left a sheet of cork board on it for a couple if days. I have tried using pledge a few times over it, and it has gotten a little better, but I still need to keep a tablecloth over it because it looks weird. I'm really upset, because I've only had this table for about 6 months. Any tips on getting this stain up? TIA!

Re: Hardwood Table Discoloration
I got discoloration on my hardwood dresser, and the pledge actually made it worse. I just commented on another post that the most effective way I've found to clean hardwood is just very warm water with a soft cloth and a small sqeeze of lemon juice.
I was also told once that if you have a window or skylight that sheds light directly onto the wood regularly, you may start to see discoloration from the sun, or from the warmth of the sun leaving residue from other items (like your cork board). I was told to rotate my table every so often so the sun doesn't beat down on the same spot forever.
