So DH & I just came from a not so great wedding. First & foremost we do not support the marriage (but do support the groom) the wife is insane -- she made it a rule she is allowed to cheat on him, etc.
The wedding was outdoors & it was FREEZING out -- the ceremony was awkward b/c once everyone stood up for the bride no one sat down through the whole ceremony & I am short & could not see anything. The bride was also wearing bright red lip stick & got it ALL over the groom -- she tried to wipe it off but it only looked worse lol. Later we found out that they were supposed to write their own vows & the groom wrote his & she totally blew it off.
The food wasn't great & very sparse. They also only served beer & wine & had this REALLY crappy signature cocktail. The reception room did not have a place for everyone to sit & looked empty (I think this was so people would dance, but NO ONE danced) The music was bad & nothing you could actually dance to. It just was not good & very awkward. I am glad we got to catch up with some friends, but the wedding was just "meh" all around.
Anyone go to any bad weddings lately?
Re: Bad wedding...
Sounds like this groom is in for a terrible ride. Why did he go through with it? Do they actually get along? So curious!
We also skipped a wedding recently. We RSVPd no. This couple RSVPd yes on the day our numbers were due and then never showed up, at all. So when I got their invitation in the mail after our honeymoon I was so tempted to RSVP yes and not show up but we didn't. We were good. DHs parents said it was definitely no well planned wedding.

We have received 2 wedding invitations this fall...one for friends of ours, which is going to be a great time, and the other for people who, when I opened the invitation and read it, I actually said out loud "Who are these people?!" DH didn't even know at first! lol We had to asked DH's parents for clarification as to who the bride and groom-to-be were! We invited the groom's parents to our wedding, because they are related to DH's grandmother...and they were happy to come and it was wonderful to see them again. However, I don't think that it was at all appropriate that we made the invitation list for their son's SECOND wedding! We have never even met these people! I can see inviting DH's parents, to return the gesture, but us?
That wedding is coming up next weekend, and we would have had to travel about 6-7 hours for it - which wouldn't be a problem of course if the wedding was for people we knew! I sure it will be lovely though...my FIL will be attending, but MIL decided to skip it! (FIL is already down in that area for work right now).
Our friend's wedding is on January 1st! And they are getting married in the same church that we were married in!
