Where are our TorTers!?

I want to give the candy out!

H wants to give beer out to the parents! Yes, you read that right. He has some bud light cans and cups aside to offer to the parents. He thinks it is a genius idea. I'm going with it.

I also want the candy gone. I don't want the candy now, but if it is leftover...I'll eat it.

My H is going to be upset he didn't think of this idea.

  • Wait, can you legally had alcohol to people on the street?  I thought there were laws against it, except in Vegas.

But, I do like the idea.

Um...No...Not really... He's being...a rebel without a cause for Halloween, apparently.

Do parents just suck nowadays and not let their kids out?

I know, right? We probably ended up with maybe 20-30 kids? So a real good amount. Only leftover is our reserve bag, which I set aside, specifically for me. :o

  • We didn't have a lot either.  Last year when Halloween was on a Saturday, I stocked up like crazy thinking I'd have trick or treaters all day and would be swamped with them & completely wiped out of candy.

Hardly any.  I actually got a lot more when Halloween was on a weeknight.  I talked to some people who said that apparently when Halloween falls on a weekend most parents opt to throw their kids Halloween parties rather than go trick or treating because it's safer and less of a hassle.

I get it, but it sucks.  I like the trick or treaters!  This year we only bought a couple bags of candy and we still have a bunch of it.  My landlord did tell me today that he usually avoided Halloween, so maybe the kids are just used to skipping our house?  Next year we decorate early and elaborately, and we'll see if that brings 'em in!

  • We didn't have any, but I really don't even plan for it anymore, I don't even buy candy.
  • We had a small amount spread out from about 4 to 8. I'm kind of disappointed because I thought there would be a lot more. Although, our street isn't very well lit, and it's below freezing here at night now so I think people stayed home. We have half of our candy left, which amounts to a bunch!

we live a block of the main street in a row of 4 townhouses, no one else had their light on so i guess they just didn't want to walk a block for only one house :( and in the past i've sat outside but it was too cold yesterday, lol
