What is your feeling on..
Black tie weddings?
Love them, hate them, tell me your thoughts.
DH & I just had a conversation about this and I'm wondering what you ladies think.

I've never been invited to one, so I just fantasize about them. I think it's a regional thing. Larissa is from part of NJ where they're much more common than my part.
I would love to attend one, however the majority of my peer group would be inconvenienced by it.
I love them...but then again mine was one...
So I guess I am biased?
doesn't happen in my circle. dh and i were invited to one (former student of mine) actually didn't go because of it.
ETA: if it was someone close to us, we would definitely go and spend the money on the fancy clothes. my DH doesn't even own a suit, lol.
Doesn't happen often here...I'd love to go, since I love getting all dolled up.
Thank goodness for military balls.
We hate dressing up and have never been to a wedding that was this formal.
Same here. DH LOVES getting dressed up and often overdresses for occasions. One of the funny little quirks that made it hard for people to believe he was making the career change to farming.
I doubt we'll ever be invited to a black tie, but it would be pretty sweet.
This is us too! I think it would be fun to get dolled up, I mean how much do we get to do this with our spouses now that our weddings are over?!
