what is your fave rest ? & "going out" spot?
I need a little help ! I just moved here a little over a month ago - My BFF is coming to visit me this weekend - she is single and all she wants to do on her visit is "go out" and meet men ...help!
I'm a SAHM ...read: nightlife game here whatsoever ...
Where should I take her for dinner..drinks? again ..she is all about meeting men...
I live in Grapevine..but will drive if necessary !
Re: what is your fave rest ? & "going out" spot?
Not that I'm one who goes out a lot, and I'm not sure how far Grapevine is from some of the places in uptown, but my husband and I have gone to eat at places off Knox/Henderson in Dallas (uptown) that are more trendy, full of people on the weekend (boys and girls). You'll probably have to valet because I bet a cab would be just too far. But some places off the top of my head that MIGHT meet your desires is Cuba Libra (does dinner and a wonderful mojito) and Victor Tangos (super yummy passion fruit vodka gimlet there). There are bars around those places next door and in walking distance...and the one time I was there on a weekend was full of cabs going up and down the street if you want to venture further down.
Yelp that area and you might find better reviews and more information because those 2 places are definitely NOT all encompassing.

Have drinks and dinner at Neighborhood Services Tavern then go play games at Barcadia. Well, I'm assuming you're my age. If you're in your early 20's, have dinner at Screen Door in One Arts Plaza and then head out to have drinks at BlackFriar on McKinney.
Our favorite restaurants are Hibiscus and Victor Tangos, but I don't know how the "guy" meeting scene is at hibiscus. VT's might be better. I can't offer you many bar suggestions because we're huge losers and don't go out to places other than really local pubs and wine bars.
PS. Cuba Libre is closed for renovations at the moment.
If you want to stay in Grapevine you could go to the Glass Cactus at the Gaylord?
Like the others...I can't offer much at advice since I'm an old married lady and we're pretty boring!
Eventhough I'm newly married I have several close single friends. We love to do girls nights at least once a month. I would say to eat dinner at Ocean Prime in Dallas and then head to Auora for dancing.
