How many trick-or-treaters?

So...how many did you get? I was convinved that we would get a ton since we live in a much more populated areas now...and I was SO excited to finally meet some of our neighbors and people around us...but we only got 9 in total (3 doorbell rings lol). And all teenagers who didnt even have costumes on for the most part  :( boo.

And now WTF am i going to do with the mass amounts of candy left over!?!? LOL

Re: How many trick-or-treaters?

  • We had a lot of kids come.  Maybe 30-40 total.  They ranged from pipsqueaks in strollers to teens.  I had to tell DH to stop letting kids take handfuls of candy because we were running out.  I kept going upstairs to the kitchen to find more candy because we were low.  Good thing DH has a sweet tooth!

  • We also had a lot, yeah probably like benmel, about 30-40.  I actually expected more though.  Since we're living in the same neighborhood as my parents/the neighborhood I grew up in, I really remembered there being a lot more and thus expected more... I have to say though, the majority of them came between 7-8:30 and I thought that the trick-or-treat times were 5-7 with it being a school night.  Oh well, I can't complain because my 4 bags of candy (not real big bags though) are completely gone.  And most kids I only gave 1 piece of candy.  Except around the end, like 7:30 and on, I started giving out 2/kid.

It was still fun, though, I was so excited!  I sat out on the porch dressed up in my Avatar costume from Saturday night (we went out with all our friends all the boys painted themselvesblue... there were about 12 Avatars in our group!  lol).  I had put a bunch of Halloween decorations out too, it looked so cute.  I'm going to put some pics on facebook :)

  • Wow...I couldn't imagine!  We get at least a hundred, probably more. They start right at 6pm and come in droves pretty much non-stop until 8.

We got sick of always running out of candy and having to shut down early.  We got $60.00 worth of candy this year...the checkout girl was laughing at us when we were checking out.  And we don't have a whole lot left over.

  • We live in an apartment still, and there are a TON of kids in the complex. We see at least a dozen kids on a regular basis out n the grassy area in front of out unit. We expected to get quite a few (we have a lot of families who live here. It's a fairly small town). We had 2-4 doorbell rings. The first ones were neigborkids, 5-6 of them. Then a neighbor girl with her dad. Then a few teenagers. That was it.  DH and I we so bummed that was all we got. We were so excited to hand out candy!

  • DH and I live in an apartment that has a few kiddies running around, but my mom invited us over for homemade chili.  How could we refuse??  I wore my boots and cowboy hat and sat out on the porch with our dog and some chili.  It was a good night. I think we had around 40-50. Which is decent. Some years there have been more, some years less.  I think I ate 4 pieces Embarrassed  Luckily all the leftovers are staying with my parents, my dad can eat it all! Haha

  • We only had one group of about 5 or 6 come. I was really bummed because I know there are a lot of kids in our apartment complex :(   We threw a halloween party at our townhouse Saturday night and had so much food and candy left over, so I was really hoping that we would have more kids last night to get rid of the candy, but we didn't :(   So now we have all this candy, and DH and I are on a diet and exercising a lot lately haha. I told him to just take the left over to school with him and get it out of the house so I won't be tempted to snack on it!
  • We also expected more than last year because of more people with kids moving into the neighborhood and a new elementary school down the road, but we actually had much less than last year. We probably had a solid half hour of trick-or-treaters, but after that it dwindled to around 2 per hour until 9pm, when I gave up on it. Last year we had non-stop kids for almost 3 hours, and more young kids (this year was mostly older kids/teenageers). *shrugs*

I was kind of disappointed by not having many, but I was more disappointed that our next-door neighbors didn't stop by. They usually stop at our house first and chat a bit, but we didn't see them at all. Oh, well!

  • We had 30 kids (DH kept count).  It was actually a couple more than last year.  When I lived with my parents though, they would get well over 100.  There was pretty much no chance to even shut the door once things picked up cause the kids just kept on coming.

  • We only had about 20 or so....and most of them came before I even got home from school!  I was looking forward to seeing some of the cute little kids, but I missed them.  Our neighbor said he got 50-100 last year, but it was really cold this year so that might be it.

  • 0!  We weren't really expecting any (live in an apartment building so people can't really come to the door) but it still would have been neat.

    Everyone welcome.
  • We only had one family, so 2 children!!  Those are the only kids that live in our complex, so we gave them our whole bowl of candy...otherwise I'd eat it.

  • We ran out of candy at 8pm!  I even put in a bag of lifesavers from the cupboard. Last year I had a whole box left over, so I bought less this year, and had more kids. Probably 30.

  • I only had one group of 2 also!  I was bummed.
  • I made 125 treat bags and ran out ... and had to bust into our personal stash.  I'd say close to 150.

One of my neighbors actually rented one of those big popcorn machines and handed the kids bags of that.  That was a really cool idea.  :)

  • We only had like a dozen and 3 of them were my niece and nephews. They thought there were pretty slick when they walked up to the door trick or treating and my friend answered the door and gave them candy. Then they had to figure out how to come in the house. lol it was cute. We had a Halloween party the same night so I didn't give out any of the candy. It was who ever was near the door, but I have aton of candy let and I only bought 2 big bags. So I know there wasn't many.

I can't stand the teens who show up without a costume on!
