We dont get a lot of trick or treaters, 20 if we are lucky. Towards the end of the night I was giving out 2 candy bars each to get rid of them.
A mother/adult who was dressed up walked 2 little girls up to our house, I dropped in candy to their buckets, then the adult put forward a tote bag she was carrying...she was trick or treating for herself!!!
I was so shocked, and she had already seen what I gave the two girls so what was I supposed to do- refuse?! I definitely didnt want someone coming back to egg or TP the house. It really bothers me when an adult does something like this, and in previous years we have gotten adults who bring a BABY to get candy for themselves. Ugh.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Re: Halloween- TOTs
that is why I hate halloween, people are so gready.
I would have gave her a look and closed the door.

I agree with Gina, I don't see anything wrong with the babies trick or treating for the experience. Unless they're like tiny babies, I can see that being weird, but babies of Andrew's age are perfectly fine. We got a lot of those last night. Even though they can't eat the candy, you could tell they were so excited and thrilled by the situation.
We got mostly smaller kids, but we did get a few teenagers come by. We had one cute kid run into the house, haha! We got about 15 last night which was cool, more than last year!
Gina--Andrew's age is fine. I think what Kel was talking about are baby, babies. You can tell the ones that are taking their baby, baby out just so they can get candy and not just to show the baby off.
I don't have problem with little ones like Andrew.
that is rude that the mom asked for candy too. especially when she already had two kids that got candy from you.
I think toddlers trick or treating are precious! Even if they can't eat the candy. They could sell it to their dentist, put a few bucks in their college fund and the military overseas could benefit.
I'm bitter that we had no trick or treaters. I would've given candy to anyone who stopped by. No discrimination at our house! haha
Im talking about an actual baby, tiny baby- one that's in a stroller or has to be held and cant eat solids yet
*eta* I just remembered one adult who brought a baby to TOT, and told the baby "Daddy likes twizzlers" (we give out full sized assorted candy bars and he saw what I had in my bowl). Stuff like that bothers me.
I wasnt talking about kids Andrew's age. I love when we get kids that age, they are hesitant but so excited. Kids his age are so adorable!
We had about 30-40 trick or treaters. I had so much fun passing out the candy (our neighborhood did it on Sat. night).
We had a couple of small kids come by (in strollers, can't walk, etc), and I stuck some candy in the little cupholders of the strollers. I know the babies won't eat it, but I bet their parents will dig right in once they get home! They weren't asking for candy though, I just had a TON of it, and the little ones were soooo cute in their costumes.
