The time has come for me to finally ditch my trustworthy OLD LG cell phone and move into into the future of smart phones. I really need help deciding on what to buy.
1.Which phone do you have? Would you buy it again if given the choice?
2.Why did you decide on that brand?
3.Is it easy to use?
4.Which features do you love and could not live without?
5.How much do you spend on your monthly rate plan?
6.Is there anything else that I should take into consideration before I buy?
TIA
Re: I phone or Blackberry?
1. I have the blackberry Bold. I LOVE IT!! Previously I had the blackberry pearl flip, and I wasn't much of a fan.
2. I originally went with the blackberry because of the keys. I text a lot and wanted something with bigger buttons and the pearl had the biggest ones i could find. I got my second blackberry because I liked the BBM (blackberry messenger) and didn't want to pay a few hundred for the iphone.
3. Once I figured out the main buttons and icons I find my phone really easy to use.
4. I love blackberry messenger you can only get on Blackberry's, but I also love my email and msn/gchat but I believe you can get all of that on an iphone as well.
5. To get a blackberry through my phone I had to have a min $30 plan on my account..... I pay way more then that because I keep Adding and my husband doesn't know how to stop talking. lol.
Find out what your friends/family have. If they all have Blackberry's it might be better to go that way for the BBM, but if most of them have iphones then with the iphone 4's facetime it might be better to go with an iphone.
Happy Easter
My Blog
I have a Blackberry for work, if I were to buy a personal phone I would get an iPhone.
DH gave up his Blackberry to get an iPhone and prefers it. It's very easy to use once you adjust, although I'm not fond of the keyboard and find it easier to make mistakes. The web surfing and apps put it way ahead in my opinion. The Blackberry browser sucks.
i have always used a BB (for the last 4 years or so) and haven't used the iphone so I am biased but i now have a BB Torch which is the best of both worlds - has BB keys and touchscreen like an iphone. i LOVE it.
i havent fully explored the apps though on this and i know that is the part that most iphone users love. i will though when i get time
I have a blackberry and I love it. However I suggest you go to a store and try them both. Thats what we did when we got our phones we went to telus (who I was already with) and played with phones in our price range.
My plan is shared 120.00 and some change. We have 1 gb each blackberries with call waiting call display and voicemail. Unlimited Texting and My 5.
1.Which phone do you have? Would you buy it again if given the choice? I have the BB Curve (it's a couple years old) which was DH's. I originally had the BB Pearl, but wanted a full keyboard so DH gave me his and he got the Bold.
2.Why did you decide on that brand? At the time, there was this crazy deal on them 3 yrs ago where I got the phone for free.
3.Is it easy to use? The BB Curve is pretty easy to use yes.
4.Which features do you love and could not live without? I love having a full keyboard to type messages, and I love BB Messenger because if you have a data plan, the BB Messenger is free. But, others have to have a BB as well to take advantage of it.
5.How much do you spend on your monthly rate plan? About $65 - that includes voice and data plan. I only have an email data plan, and I don't do any web browsing on my BB. Besides, the browser is not that great and I have no use for it.
6.Is there anything else that I should take into consideration before I buy? You should think about what you want most in your phone really and cost. Check out both options and price them both out to see where they compare, and determine what you can't live without and what you can sacrifice. I personally want the iPhone...but I can't justify the $$ right now. So, I'll stick it out with what I have for now. My contract ends in December, so I'll finally be on a month to month basis.
1.Which phone do you have? Would you buy it again if given the choice?
I have the BB Curve. Joe has the BB Bold. Both of us have them for work and love them. If given the choice we would both get BB's again.
2.Why did you decide on that brand?
Given it by work.
3.Is it easy to use?
Yes very easy to use. If you are new to smartphones the help feature on it is awesome.
4.Which features do you love and could not live without?
I love BBM, gmail, gchat, apps like the weather network, beat the traffic, open table (allows you to make restaurant reservations), sparkpeople etc etc.
5.How much do you spend on your monthly rate plan?
Don't pay since it is for work.
6.Is there anything else that I should take into consideration before I buy?
Go and try them out to see what you like. Biggest thing will be if you like the touchscreen or not. Okay and as silly as it sounds....I like supporting a Canadian company buy using a BB.
