The Chicago Botanical Gardens hosted an event Saturday called the
"Spooky Pooch Parade," which was a large costume party/contest for dogs
and their owners. DH, Pugsly and I, along with our friend Terri and
her dog Taffy, decided to go. We went as White Sox fans because it was
cheap (we had a lot of gear already). Terri and Taffi went as Dorothy
from the Wizard of Oz. There were over 400 dogs in attendance!
I'm proud to mention that DH, Pugsly and I got 'honorable
mention' for the coordinated pet/owner costume category. Actually,
we're kind of embarrassed. A lot of people went all out who got no
mention (including poor Terri!), and really deserved some recognition.
We know we only got mentioned because we displayed what they perceived
as "city pride."
