Yes, very possibly TMI but this is the one board I really don't hold back on, lol.
Can I be overly analytical and obsessive for just a moment here? I know I'll get flamed for posting this anywhere else (like on the TTGP board).
As most of you know, this is our first cycle "officially" TTC - like charting & everything. I realize that few actually have success on their first cycle, so I'm not wanting to get my hopes up or anything.
But here's the thing. Yesterday I noticed that my nipples where crazy sore. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got in the shower and even the warm water hurt them. Of course, first thing I jump to is "omg, could I be pregnant??"
It's pretty common for my breast to be tender around O and AF, but I'm in the 2WW right now... and it's my nipples, not my breasts. Weirdest thing.
I decided to ask my sister last night on the phone what she remembered her first symptom being and she replies with "Oh, my nipples felt like they were on fire..." and I loudly interject with "SHUT UP!"
Anyway, still trying oh so hard to not get my hopes up. After all, I really doubt that I would have any symptoms this early on anyway, so it makes me feel like I'm just kind of making up reasons in my head. Maybe my nipples are always sore around this time but I just never had a reason to pay attention to it? Who knows.
After that lengthy novel, thought I'd ask the mommy's and moms-to-be here what the very first symptom you all remember having was?
Thanks & sorry SO long!

Thanks Summer & Shelley!!
Dana, good to know! Thanks

I'm not going to be much help cause I've had a very easy pregnancy thus far.
I was only exhausted when I got my positive. But the exhaustion could have just been from the fact that we were on vacation and doing a lot of hiking. My boobs didn't start hurting until the next week, and I would have mild pms like cramps on and off.
I exhibited no symptoms until about 5 days after I got my positive.
Good luck! I'm on pins and needles for you and Shelley now.
Oh, and for what it's worth I got knocked up our first month trying. And I believe crows did also.

Thanks for the input, Mar!!!
I thought that it was your first month TTC, but wasn't sure. Hopefully it's something in the water here on Oct 08

i didn't have sore nipples but my boobs were painfully sore at about 5 DPO. i never had sore boobs during my period so i assumed something was up.
and as mar said, i did get pg our first cycle trying.
GOOD LUCK!!! i'm thinking positive (hehe) thoughts for you! xo

Good luck!
My nips weren't sore. It was more that my boobs felt heavy as rocks and sore. I was also exhausted and had a "I think I'm going to pass out and/or throw up" moment very early in my 2WW.
Good luck. One thing I've noticed TTC is that "symptoms" seem to appear more often when you are looking for them. Hopefully that wasn't too "Debbie Downer" I just have been in the position of reading into every twitch and sore nipple... I hope that it is a BFP for you!
Good Luck!

That's what kind of threw a red flag for me - I *never* recall having sore nipples. EVER. But, like I said, it could be that I just never paid attention before.
Thanks for the GL

Thank you!!
I was, again, being overly analytical when I felt like passing out earlier today and my stomach turned a bit... but then I realized that hubs and I had been packing the house since early this morning and it was already dinner time and I hadn't eaten anything, lol. I felt like such a dummy when I realized that because, of course, the first thing that entered my mind was "another pregnancy sign?!" hahaha.

I definitely agree with you, that's why I noted that I'm sure a lot of this could be in my mind. I've never had a reason to "look" for symptoms until now, so of course every little thing that happens makes my mind wander with pregnancy thoughts, lol.
Thanks for the GL!

Now I don't feel as insane. I swear it feels like I have needles going through my nipples, definitely different than the usual tender feeling in my boobs during my period.
Again, I could totally be just "wanting" to believe their symptoms and have never paid attention to this before.
Thanks for the vibes!

I had forgotten that you did, too!! Good to know that it's not impossible

Holy cow! That's awesome - what in the world was in the water during October 2008? Haha.
Thanks for the input. Guess all I can do is wait and see.

i got pregnant on month 2 of trying, and i didn't have any symptoms until the night before i got my BFP (13dpo). I felt like i was getting a nasty flu...i went to bed at 7:30 and felt like i had the worst hangover ever. I almost didn't even take a pregnancy test the next morning, because the day before i got a BFN and that was 2 days before my period (and i was using the expensive "test 5 days before your missed period" bullsh!t.) Anyway, long story short, i felt hungover, but no boob or nipple issues lol
i really hope you get a bfp though!!! it is so crazy exciting and scary being pregnant!

Yeah, seriously. It must be a northeastern thing Whit....the water hasn't reached us southerns yet. It's must be that damn Mississippi River that flows north.
We actually got pregnant the first month trying too, but lost it quickly. It took 7 months to get pregnant again.
I wish I could help with the symptom identifying. My symptoms weren't any different than they were other months.
Good luck!!! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!
I'm shipping you girls some of this bottled southern water today.

I knew I was pregnant before I had any symptoms....so I am not of much help either. I knew my charts (had been doing it for almost a year and a half prior to TTC-was doing it as bc/TTA), and was relatively certain of my ovulation date and knew my average LP length, so I was just waiting for the right day to test, and as soon as I hit that, I had a positive. That was a couple days before I had my "missed" period.
It took about another week or two before I had sore breasts or anything of the sort, and then another week or so after that before morning sickness kicked in.
ETA: I too got knocked up on the first cycle of TTC, so it does happen! Fingers crossed for you!
Thanks for the info & crossed fingers, lissy!!
