Restaurant ideas...

Hi ladies! My sister is coming to town for her birthday on Thursday and we wanted to take her and BIL to a REALLY nice restaurant. I am open to areas such as North OKC, Edmond, Moore, Norman... price range $25-$60 each person.

Thanks in advance!

ETA: Live music would be great too.

Re: Restaurant ideas...

  • My hands-down favorite restaurant in that price range is The Haunted House in NWOKC (just NE of I-44 and MLK). Reservation only, and it's really fun this time of year when it gets dark early since it's in the middle of the woods. Supposedly there was a murder in the house or something like that years ago. It's very quiet and peaceful, which is awesome if you're not in the mood to try and fight with the rest of the noise in the restaurant. http://www.hauntedhouserestaurant.com

Some others you can't go wrong with: Cheever's (NW 23rd St.), Deep Fork Grill (I-44 and N. Western), Junior's (Oil Center on NW Expressway), and The Ranch (Hefner and May I think..?). I like the rest of these and I think you'll be pleased with any of them, but I just prefer the Haunted House.

Have a good time! Sounds like you'll have fun!

  • I've never eaten at any of the other restaurants gingerfeathers mentioned, but we really enjoyed Deep Fork Grill.  I have also been wanting to eat at Cheever's but we just haven't made it around to it yet.
  • Boulevard Steakhouse can be done on $60/person but I don't think you could get wine and salad/soup and a dessert along with your steak and sides. You'd have to only pick 1-2 of the first three depending upon your entree. But very worth it!
  • Rococo fits in that price range and they very often have music on Friday nights.

  • I would vote for Mickey Mantle's. While its not the best steakhouse in town, they do have live music on Friday and Saturday nights.  Well, they used to....
  •  DH and I went to the haunted house in July and we were not impressed at all. I've heard about it for years and was really excited to go and the service was awful, they put everyone together in one small room-the tables were packed so tight I couldn't even get out to go to the bathroom. The food was overpriced for what it was which was a baked potato with rancid sour cream and nasty fake bacon bits. The salad was lame too.

The Castle is also good too. They do German and other European food and the service was great and the food was damn good as well. The Castle also has cool history behind it and has a great dining environment. The Castle is one of a kind and would be good for out of towners.

  • Rococo, Red Prime, The Mantel. Not sure about live music, but all have amazing food.
  • Another vote for Haunted House. That's a great place if you're looking for a quiet atmosphere.
  • Thanks so much ladies for all the wonderful ideas, I am going to look up every restaurant and hopefully we can go from there, thanks again!!!
