7 Weekends

Yep, 7 shopping weekends left till Christmas. Is that motivation for anyone to start Christmas shopping?

Re: 7 Weekends

  • I like the way you think! I'm excited just thinking about Black Friday coming up. I've gotten a few gifts, but not a good start yet.

  • I'm not motivated at all this year.  But I am interested in seeing what Black Friday has to offer.
  • We're not doing a lot of shopping this year because we're broke.  But we do plan on making Charlie a play kitchen, which I am super duper excited about.  We went and got some of the supplies this past weekend.  So I guess that means we have 7 weekends to make it happen.  With a newborn, that should be quite interesting. ;)
  • I can't believe it's that close to xmas. I haven't bought any gifts but I pretty much know exactly what the kids are getting. Since we are b-r-o-k-e this year I've been saving all my swagbucks and are waiting for the amazon gc to go on sale and hopefully be able to get the kids gifts with that. I'm starting to look for all those photo book deals and that will be the gifts for the IL's and Great Grandparents.
  • I plan on having it all done by Thanksgiving like last year. I have the Christmas cards ready, just need to address them. In fairness though we are doing a very small Christmas and all (or at least most) of our gifts will be coming from Bed, Bath, and Beyond where we have a store credit. Money is tight, so we are hoping to buy 7-10 presents max.
  • I don't even want to reply (because that would involve thinking about the money I don't have being spent) but I am sort of excited about Black Friday.  A friend of mine and I do it religiously every year...She is a detective when it comes to the leaked ads, and we make it an event.  Even if I don't buy a lot, it is still way fun!

  • We have to have all our shopping done by the time we go home to PA in 3 weeks.  We have gifts for my mom, his dad...and that's it so far.  Anyone know what to get a party girl college student?  I was the nerdy college student so I'm at a loss lol.  Motivated to get this done though?  Yes, I don't think I have a choice.

Oooh do you think Amazon will go on sale?!  I have over 1700 swagbucks saved up right now- that could help out a lot!!

I have gifts for Sis, BIL, Godson, BFF, and a couple of other little gifts. Mostly I just need to find 2 big gifts for parents, and something else for BFF's family- then I should be pretty close to done! We've really cut back on gift buying over the past couple of years- but it is getting easier for me to not spend the $$$ than it used to be.

Of course yay you! The earlier the better in my opinion.

  • If I had anything done early I would be screaming for the roof tops. But since the kids are getting bikes and things we are hoping we can get some good deals on Black friday and Cyber monday
  • I am so not ready.  And I am so not motivated to do any shopping for anyone.  I know that makes me sound like a big ol' ***, but man oh man, I don't have the time or patience to figure out gifts for people who already have everything!
