so when this is over, do you let people read your work?
I don't even know if anyone would want to, but do you let people read your novel?

My Blog
Eventually.
I'm still working on my '08 NaNo, and it's STILL not ready for public eyes. But I will eventually.
This is pretty much my answer. I have two regular critique groups. They've read chapters of my '08 novel, but only after they'd been completely rewritten. My '09 novel may never see the light of day. For this one, it's still to early to tell.
I'm taking after Stephen King with my first draft - writing with the door closed.
After a round or two of self-edits I will let someone read it.
Only one person has read the first ten pages of my '09 Nano, but thanks to her comments, I think the opening chapter is much stronger. I know it's scary to let other people read it, but the truth is, other people find the inconsistencies much easier since they're not that close to the story. It makes for a better novel overall, I think.
