Hi there-
We had purchased the Shark Navigator, but was really disappointed in its performance as when we vacuum our tile and hardwood floors the air seems to push the dust/dirt away as opposed to suck it in, so needless to say we are returning. Any recommendations for a great vacuum (esp for tile/hardwood)-will buy the Dyson if it really is all that.
Thanks, Karen
Re: XP: Vacuum Opinions
My parents own 2 dysons haha apparently they loved it so much that they didnt want to share! I registered for one because well heck we couldnt afford it, but its still on the registry : (
I really want one too!
We got a steam mop thats amazing!! our wood floors look incredible!!
Breastfeeding and pregnant!
I'm going to vote against a Dyson. Ours was perfect and wonderful when we first got it. Now it's a piece.
I went to a vacuum store to get it serviced. I know darn well how to clean the filter, but it really did lose suction, and I couldn't figure out why. It turns out there is a filter in there that does need to be replaced. The hepa filter is toward the bottom of the unit, under the dust cup thingy. The guy at the vacuum store opened it up and showed me the clog. He explained that Dyson parts are expensive to replace. He recommends getting a regular vacuum with a bag and cheap belts.
Yes, the Dyson is awesome. It just doesn't stay awesome forever. If your vac isn't going to last more than five years, I don't recommend dumping a bunch of money into it. Just get something that is either easy to maintain, or cheap to replace.
