for your own house warming party that you're throwing (and it's lasting all of 3 hours)?
---Friends FB status got me thinking about this. . didn't know if others did this or not? What are your thoughts?
Re: Would you Register. . .
don't think so
I mean, to each them own, but yeah, I don't fully understand it. I'd love to throw a housewarming party, but I wouldn't ask people for gifts (she advertised on FB where they registered -her boyfriend and herself-)
Also. . if it were like kitchen things and such. . .maybe I'd get something, but part of the registry is for clothing??
I was just a little baffled and wanted to see what you ladies thought
Yep! Clothes!?! Are you serious?
In my perfect dream world, if all my friends and family lived near me, would I WANT to do that? Yes.
Would the angel on my shoulder say "now, now Derky, that's not why we're throwing this party" and ultimately win out?
Yes.
And even then, in my perfect dream world I would still only register for house related items. Kitchen gadgets, maybe things like a hose, mailbox, maybe a planter or two (even decor items to me would be a little iffy)....but clothing? That even crosses MY dream world line.
Yup. Your friend is a little whack.
Registering for clothes is definitely weird. If people want to buy a housewarming gift, they will. I don't think there's a need to register and make people feel obligated to buy something to come to the party.
Reading they registered for clothes made me furrow my brow. lol.
Your comments made me laugh!
Yeah. . I was taken back by it and the manner in which it was announced. This friend is from highschool, one whom I haven't talked to in YEARSS.
Funny thing. . shortly after I posted this thread, the friend sent me a message via FB asking if I'd be in town for that day. Lol. . Nope. . .
