I want to try and make this for a get together for tomorrow night. I have never had it before. Is it really as god as people say it is?
Which recipe have you used (if you have made it before)?
Re: Buffalo chicken dip?
I make this for every party I host, and it's always the first thing gone:
4 chicken breasts- cooked and shredded (can use 2 large cans of shredded chicken instead)
16 oz cream cheese (fat free works fine)
16 oz texas pete hot sauce (start with less and taste it as you go)
16 oz ranch dip
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt and mix cream cheese with ranch dip. Add chicken and hot sauce and combine. *(can be topped with celery and cheddar cheese, but I never do this)*. Pour into ungreased 13x9 inch baking dish and bake for 30 minutes, or until edges begin to brown and dip is bubbly.
**You can put this together the day before, just don't bake it until you're ready. Store it in the fridge overnight, and be sure to let it stand to come down to room temperature before baking. If it's still cold, you'll need to add extra baking time.**
I dont have any hot sauce...could I use a wing sauce (or will that be too much added oil?)
Ranch dip? Is this ranch dressing, or like a tub of dip in the refrigerated section (like sour cream)?
Sorry for all the questions LOL.
Yep, texas pete hot sauce is a wing sauce. You can use pretty much any hot sauce except tobasco, because tobasco has a vinegar flavor (love it on everything, but it's not right for this dip).
Yes, ranch dip is the tub of dip in the fridge section. they usually have store brands of it (i buy Kroger brand; not sure if you have those up there).
No problem on the questions - I'm happy to help! I hope the dip turns out well. It's sooooooooo good.
Oh, and I forgot to mention - it's best served with Fritos scoops, but i only get those if they are on sale because they're super expensive if not. if they're not on sale, just get regular tortilla chips to serve with it
We do have kroger!
.
Thanks for the tip on the fritos scoops, Im going to have celery also to dip with as well.
I will let you know how it turns out, thanks so much Bev!
