Had a crazy busy weekend!
I just now have a few minutes to get on after my crazy weekend! My Mom came up Friday night and we had a potential Doula come over for a dinner interview. She was awesome!!! Everything she said was perfectly aligned with how I feel and I couldn't be happier with her. DH and my Mom loved her too and DH said he's really happy to have someone there the whole time who's been through over 400 births and can help him help me. We went ahead and hired her. Check that off the list!
On Saturday, we went to my work baby shower. It was so nice! They put a lot of work and thought into it. Because we all teach, they made a class syllabus about parenting, a process folder (which we use in our design classes), and a kit (we pass out kits with their drafting supplies, etc). Of course, the kit had all baby stuff in it. It also had some stuff for DH in it - a full body painters suit for changing diapers, a face mask, milk stout beer, etc. It was great!
On Sunday, DH woke up at 4 am to leave for China and my Mom and I left for Miami to go to my nephews 1st birthday party. He is sooooo cute! He refused to eat his birthday cake though and started crying everytime they tried to give him a piece. Hilarious!
I stayed at my parents house Sunday night, drove home Monday morning, then went to work. Whew. I was glad to get a good nights sleep last night!

JJ wouldn't eat his birthday cake, either. I'm hoping this year, we get a different result.
