s/o Pam's Halo sleepsack post

For you mom's that used them, how many did you have on hand?  I'm debating on whether to buy a couple at that super cheap price and what sizes.....

Re: s/o Pam's Halo sleepsack post

  • I only used the bigger sizes. I swaddled him until about three months old, then started using the sleep sack as he got bigger...I probably had three or four of the bigger sizes on hand for him. Then, he started getting out of them and outgrew them probably by 9 or 10 months. He's a tall kid. :)

  • I had 2 in each size and stopped using them when he was able to roll over. They got in the way of him scooting and moving around and he would wake up when he couldn't get comfy.

  • Oh and my newborn one were the ones with the swaddle attachment. Brock was the swaddle Houdini but hated be unswaddled when he was really little. Weird kid....

  • my sis did the blanket swaddle thing when he was really little (i can check timeframe for you) then switched to sleep sacks. my nephew (15 months) still sleeps in a sleep sack, but he's in the largest size so this is it, lol.
  • here's info from my sis:

think we swaddled CT for at least the first 5-6 months, if not longer.  No we didn't use the sleep sacks with the swaddle arms, but we used the preformed swaddle blankets (because they velcro, the baby can't wiggle out as easy as a receiving blanket and it's when they wiggle out that they wake up).

think I'd start with the medium sleep sacks, if your baby doesn't like to be swaddled (I heard some don't), you'll need small ones.  I'd get fleece for the winter and cotton for the rest of the year.
