switched over my winter clothes and purged two bags of clothes to donate...

wish I could purge more, but it's hard to do.  The "what if's" always take over.  I just don't have the space anymore.  How often do you go through clothes to get rid of?

Re: switched over my winter clothes and purged two bags of clothes to donate...

  • I've been doing it just about weekly since having DS but I'm in desperate need for a new winter wardrobe since I was PG last winter and none of my winter stuff from the year before fit.  Bleh.  I've been yakking at DH to purge some of his clothes because the man seriously has more clothes than me and so we can assess his winter wardrobe.
  • Every fall and spring. I switch my fall/winter clothes to the back each spring and vice versa.
  • I pull things out of my closet one piece at a time and store them in a rubbermaid under my bed, destined for donation (or my sister).  Once it's full, I donate.  So, it's an ongoing process.
  • I do it at least once a year.  I did it this past summer when I was in the process of going through my work clothes for the upcoming school year.  It came at a good time since I had just moved and needed to reorganize my closet.  I ended up donating 5-6 bags of clothes to the Salvation Army.
  • I have a bit of a shopping problem so I usually have to make space in the closet once a year.  Between DH and I, I can usually fill 1-2 garbage bags for donation.  I always feel guilty about buying clothes but I feel better when I donate.

  • Once or twice a year, usually when I swap out clothing for the new season.
