Yawn...this is why we don't co-sleep

Allison woke up around 4 am and called out for me. Somehow she had wet through her diaper and it soaked the sheets (so much for going diaperless in the next few weeks). So I changed her and brought her to our bed. This is the first time we have ever done this, even during t-storms, bad dreams, etc. we stayed in her room, rather than bringing her to our bed. however the extra sheets were in Amelia's room, so I didn't want to risk having two kids up.

Needless to say, the three of us did not get any sleep from that point in time. Allison has alway been about her bed, when it comes time to sleep. Very rarely will she sleep in her car seat or if I let her lay in bed with me during nap time. I don't think she lets herself fall asleep and then when she did dooze off, she would flop her arms. Brian almost got nailed a few times. Yawn....I'm tired.

  • Sounds like a long night (er... early morning)!  Hope you guys all get better sleep tonight.

Yuck!  I only let Addie in our bed, if I am trying to sleep in more... and she wakes at 7ish.  This scenario is exactly why I have 2 waterproof mattress pads and sheets on their beds!

    Good luck going diaperless soon!

  • Pete comes in our room for late night visits sometimes and we're too sleepy to kick him out.  He literally kicks you and lays lengthwise across the bed instead of like you are supposed to.  So, the kicks are pretty strong and usually in your face!
  • This is the sole reason why I have a king sized bed - not to make room for other reasons!

Some mornings I wake up, and there's an 11 year old - 100 lb lump in my bed.  The bed is so big, I don't wake up when he gets in.

  • You just described every night in my house (minus the pee lol).  Ben used to STTN in his crib like a champ, but these stupid canine teeth are KILLING us. All night we are getting kicked, headbutted, fingers dug into eyesockets, etc.  It's super fun...NOT.
