Do tell. What's the recipe for this. It sounds fantastic.

Re: Crock pot Salsa chicken

  • jar of salsa

    can of corn, drained

    can of black beans, drained and rinsed

    package of chicken breasts.

    dump it all in, season as you want, cook on high 4 hours, or low for 8.

    enjoy.

    THIS! Best part- you can put the chicken breasts in frozen!

  • Tonight I made it straight up with just chicken and salsa b/c I didn't have corn or black beans (even though I thought I did!).  I threw the chicken in frozen, cooked it on warm all day (my crock cooks hot), shredded the chicken, and mixed it back in.  We made burritos with rice, lettuce, sour cream, and cheese. AWESOME!!!

    p.s. when I did a search last night for the recipe, I came across the detroit board and those girls were knocking it BIG TIME.  I thought it was delish!!!

    clearly...girls from detroit are not culinary wizards like we southern girls are =)

  • So going to make this.   Thanks !
  • The recipe I use calls for a small block of cream cheese (like 4oz I think?) melted in for the last 30 minutes.  I agree, it's good and make a great filling for burritos, quesadillas, in a taco salad or over yellow or spanish rice.
  • We are going to try this recipe Friday... I hope we have leftovers to make chicken tortilla soup with!

  • I make mine using chicken, salsa, packet of taco seasoning, can of cream of mushroom, and sour cream. Recipe on my food blog here.
  • Do y'all have any other recipes like this? Easy and yummy?
