Weekend Trip has been Cancelled (kind of long)
So, this weekend is the annual Peter Anderson Festival in Mississippi. HH and I went last year with my brother and his gf (who is from Gulfport, MS). We had such a great time and got some really cool things for the house. We have been planning on going back to the festival this year since we had such a good time last year. HH and I even took next Monday off work so we could take our time coming back.
Well...this Saturday HH and I hosted a birthday lunch for the 4 family members who have October birthdays. My brother came but his gf did not b/c "she didn't want to put a damper on the party." Her words. She is a major drama queen and I know my brother is not a completely innocent party but they are just so ill-matched its hard to take. She is away from her family in MS and doesnt want to be alone and he doesnt make enough to live on his own yet..so I think they are just sticking together until one of them has a way out. Cut to two weeks from now and they will be posting gooey, lovey dovey messages on FB to one another and how they are so in love. It's so back and forth with them.
Anyways, I get a text from the gf today that my brother is no longer coming to MS this weekend. She apologized for it being such late notice but she "wanted to have a good time this weekend." Does she really think HH and I are still going with her? Even if HH stayed home and I went with her (we are actually pretty good friends) I would be seen as the sister of the "evil brother" that she portrays him to be; no thanks.
Sorry for the vent but we have just been planning this weekend for a long time. I got my good friends to house/dog sit for us and we took Monday off work. Now - b/c they are both immature and ridiculous I dont get a fun weekend of shopping. boo.

Thanks guys, it looks like we are still going to go and just get a hotel. Might be kind of awkward if we run into her and her family but oh well.
Anyone ever been to The Shed? Best bbq ever!! well it's very different than Texas BBQ - so its my favorite non-Texan bbq place on the planet. We will be going there while we are in MS this weekend. Can't wait!
