s/o Grocery Shopping

Yes, a spin off my own post.

What are some things you absolutely get every time you go grocery shopping, or something you makes sure you do NOT run out of?

I don't have too many for me, but for DH the necessary ones are:

milk
cereal
Diet Mt. Dew

I also pretty much always have yogurt in the house, and we generally get a frozen pizza every week too.

Ice cream used to be on this list but DH comes home last night and says "I thought a lot about it...and...I think I'm going to give up ice cream again." LMAO!

  • Milk, eggs, bread, coffee creamer

We always have popcorn, but buy it in the hugest box possible, so it's only on the grocery list 4 or so times per year. But, I make sure and buy it before we run out.

  • For me, it's:

    Milk
    Yogurt
    JJ's juice
Cereal [Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios - JJ's faves]
    Goldfish
    Some sort of fruit
    Eggs
    Bread

    Yes, I realize my grocery must-haves are JJ-dominated. :)

  • yogurt (i'm almost out of mine, H is out of his)

    cottage cheese

    bananas (we're out)

    apples (we're out)

    milk

    eggs

    egg beaters

  • So first, DH buys his milk at Costco, and we usually get cereal there too.

And, I do the majority of my shopping at Trader Joe's, so that tend to skew my list a little.

    I always have:

    frozen potstickers

    whole wheat pasta

chicken/turkey sausages (the fancy flavored ones -- and they freeze well)

fresh fruits and veggies -- i buy whatever looks good.

    eggs

    butter

we always have coffee creamer in the house, but i don't have to buy it every time because we don't drink coffee every day.

i also always have plenty of my milk (almond milk) around, since it's shelf stable until you open it.

  • Fresh bread

    eggs

    orange juice

    milk

    yogurt

    salad stuff

    fruit - bananas, apples, pears

    cheese

  • Bread, milk, eggs, tomatoes, cheese, spagehtti stuff. I try not to buy junk food or soda, although we usually have ice cream in the freezer too. And spaghetti is a staple, so it's always on the shopping list.
  • imageburkems:

    milk
    cereal
    Diet Mt. Dew

I just bought that exact same list of things last week.  But other than that, it's a once a week trip and it's usually frozen stuff for lunch, bottled water, DH drinks gatorade during work.  But we will do the big meat shop about once a month and stock the freezer.
