Waxing vs. Threading

I'm getting my eyebrows done tomorrow and I have a choice if I want Waxing or Threading. I've always had the Wax, but I'm wondering what Threading feels like.  Any opinions?

Re: Waxing vs. Threading

  • All I have ever had done is wax... but I have heard that threading is much less painful.

  • i don't really think threading is less painful. it does the same thing as waxing, but it takes longer than waxing (not a whole lot longer). i have switched back to waxing because i prefer them to just rip all my hair out at once as opposed to little hairs at a time. it only takes about twice as long to do the threading and, in my opinion, it's worth the experience. another reason i quit doing threading is because it used to not be as popular and they only did it at a few salons around town.

All of this. I felt that the threading did not get all of my little blond hairs like waxing did. However, my face was less red afterwards, but only slightly.

  • I only get my eyebrows threaded. It takes about 5 minutes and they always look wonderful. I have sensitive skin, and anything I can do to not wax it helps.

Threading feels no different from waxing as far as the hair removal is concerned. You do have threads winding across your face, though, which feels a little funny.

There are some videos on Youtube about it if you want to see it done... I would say just try threading once and see if you like it.

  • So...I just got back from my appt and I decided to try threading.  I'm NOT a fan!  I think that hurt more than waxing.  But, at least I tried....  Wink
