H lost his wedding band...and the poor thing is sick :-(

Hubs lost his wedding band yesterday. He drove out to Western MD to tend to some business, and thinks that after he washed his hands at a rest stop, his ring became slippery and slid off, perhaps when he was reaching into his jeans pocket for his car keys...the poor thing is just sick about it. I told him that we could get him another one, but he said that "this was the ring he married me with"...Awwwww

We searched all around our place, car, driveway and still couldn't find it, so it looks like we'll be out to get him a new ring this week. The funny thing is, when we first started dating, he said that he could never get used to having a ring on his finger...and on the drive into work this morning, he was saying how naked and weird his hand felt without his wedding ring...talk about a change :-)

  • That really bites.  Maybe say a few prayers to St. Anthony (patron of lost things).  Usually works for me :)

  • Aww, shucks! :( I'm sorry. I know it's replaceable but still frustrating. BTW I pray to St. Anthony too. My mom taught me a little prayer when I was a kid - "Tony, Tony, look around; something's lost and can't be found." :) Good luck and hope the hubster feels better!!

  • Oh boo!!! You are being a nice supportive wifey - i would probably have a fit :)

Hope he finds it or alternatively gets a new one he likes. My brother in law is on his 4th or 5th wedding ring I think...

  • Sad :(  Good thing you are so supportive and positive though.  I hope you guys find it, or it gets replaced quickly.  I'll make mention to St. Anthony though :P

  • Thanks, girls, for the kind words and prayers to St. Anthony! I will do the same, you can never have too many Saints on your side :-)

  • awww!  You ARE a supportive wife!  :)

DH's wedding ring is getting scratched up.  We went to our jewelers to ask them about maybe getting a tungston (sp?) one that looks like his.  His is titanium and wasn't all that much money. I have mixed feelings about getting him a new band.  On one hand I want him to have something that isn't going to scratch and look worn out, yet I want him to keep this one because it's like your dh said it's the one he got married to me with.  Soooo...good luck ring shopping, however I hope you find his original!  :)

I was going to say this!

Your marriage is in your heart not the ring. But, goodness...how terrible that must feel.

  • Aw sorry to hear that. It is sweet that he cares so much!

  • Aw, sorry, that stinks.  Hopefully it gets found, but if not, I hope that the search for a new one is easy and quick!

Sorry to hear that your H lost his wedding band...but nice to know that some of the girls here pray to St. Anthony (I do too!). Works for me most of the time :)
