Have you voted today?

DH and I got up early and went before work. It's amazing to see the difference in the amount of people that don't vote in the smaller elections. We were in and out of there in 5 minutes.

Re: Have you voted today?

  • I haven't voted, and probably wont.  Only b/c a.) I haven't kept up with any of it, being so busy with work and only catching TV off the the DVR (FF through all the political commercials), so I don't feel that I'm an informed voter. and b.) I'm working till 6pm (at least) tonight and I have an hour drive home and there weren't any early voting polls in my area.

The only person I know that is running is Richard Burr... and it sounds like he's not going to have much of a problem winning.

  • I am planning too after work.  I SHOULD have done it on the way b.c when I passed by there was NO ONE at the polls.  How sad?

  • Not yet.  I plan on doing so tonight when I get home from work.
  • Not yet, Is there a place where I can read all about the candidates? Anybody know?

  • Feistyred--if you are registered to vote, you can (google search) the NC board of elections and pull up the votes that you will be casting your ballot.  (for instance, you'll only have your specific state rep cadidates, board of elections, etc instead of the others that are running in your area but aren't in your jusidiction.  For the elections I wasn't sure about, I just googled/looked in our newspaper for info about the candidates.  It just helps streamline your search because you aren't seeking out info on a person you couldn't vote for anyway.

(Assuming this is the case for you.  We have some VERY effed up voting districts in my area--thank you gerrymandering!)

  • I voted around 1pm. No line.

  • DH and I just got back from voting. No wait (granted during early voting. . you would have had to wait in like for at least 45 mins).

The people there asked DH if he was 18 and I laughed. :o) (He is of course!. . just very youngish looking, his whole entire family ages so well)

  • I voted around 8am. There was definitely a steady stream of people, but I didn't have to wait really.
  • Boy, I am regretting not getting up early!  I waited for 1.5 hrs.....wow!
