Honeymoon here we come!!!
Yesterday DH and I went to a travel agent to check out deals to possibly plan a honeymoon and we ended up booking our honeymoon. We are heading to the Riviera Maya Nov 15th!!!! So excited and can't wait

We stayed at the Secrets Capri. (I think it's near where you are staying.) I ended up having my job cut a few months before we went, and after we booked and paid for the trip. Because of this, we didn't want to spend a ton of money on things we hadn't already paid for (our resprt was all inclusive and had several food options and A LOT of activities on the resort).
We only did one day off the resort. We made the trip to Chichen Itza, one a few sites of Mayan ruins. There are a few others a little closer to Riviera Maya, but that one is one of the biggest, and one of the most well known. I'm a history teacher, so I wanted to go to that one, and knew that before we went. TOTALLY worth it, but from Riviera Maya, it's a full day trip. The extra cost wasn't too bad, and it included the travel, authentic Mexican lunch and some swimming.
Several people in our resort that we spent some time with at the pool/beach went into Playa del Carmen. You can get some amazing deals on shopping there if you want to go shopping. Our hotel had a shuttle that went into town everyday.
