Her son isn't 5 anymore. It's time for her to stop coddling him. Oh and this broad took a phone call at the damn restaurant table and told the person on the other end that she was eating out w/ her son...in front of my face! Way to be an asswipe and make me feel like a piece of sh!t.
I flame myself for my apathy in voting yesterday. I've never not voted in a presidential or gubernatorial election, but it was cold, stormy, and the other guy didn't spend NEAR enough money to beat our incumbent so I knew exactly how things would go (even in the smaller elections). So I didn't go.
For the record, it went exactly as I knew it would. Never a mystery who is going to win in a Texas election.

i'm flaming H for never wanting to fly again. and i guess i'm flaming myself for being really bothered by it.
our HM was his first time flying and he really didn't like it. i feel bad being annoyed by it because its really not his fault but i'm not ok with vacationing in new england for the rest of my life. i want tropical. and i know its stupid and petty and whatever but it really bothers me.

H is the same way. He has an intense fear of flying. He said he'd never fly again after our honeymoon, but has already come around. There are too many places he wants to go. We've looked into prescriptions for relaxation and he tends to get a little liquored up before (during) a flight.

i'm trying to get him to look into meds or something. i'm hoping he just needs some time to recover from the first experience.
crusing is an option. i didn't even think of that. i'm not sure if there are a lot of cruises that leave from this area but it is definitely an alternative!

I'm pissed about the Canned Hunting measure failing. It really makes me upset to think about people in North Dakota hand raising big game, and then releasing them into a pen and killing them. It's not hunting, and it's horrible.
Also, I cannot believe how close the governor's race in Minnesota is. Emmer is crazy, and it makes me sad that so many people voted for him.
Politics.
I'm pretty offended by this. DH is a full time student who works his ass off to get great grades. We definitely would not be able to afford his school if it weren't for his pell grant. I have a bachelors and couldn't find a job in my field, so I found one in a different field. Life isn't a walk in the park. Deal with it.
And stop judging situations you have no knowledge of.

Back in June 2010...
I'm sorry I offended you. I was in no way talking about people that are working hard for an education. I am talking about people that EXPECT for the government to pay for them to go back to school. That want to sit at home and just pop out babies so they can get more money from the government.
I worked my butt off too in school and earned a bachelors degree but can't find a job in my field. I want to go back to school because I STILL dont have a job and can't find anything in another field that is going to pay what I made as a teacher unless I go back to school. I dont have the money to pay for another bachelors degree and it would be nice if I could get a little assistance, but I can't. They said I made too much money last year, even though I am currently unemployed and make NO money...It just seems unfair to me that people that just want a hand out can get assistance but people like me can't....That was what my rant was about.

yea, unless you're going back for a post bac teaching cert you have about 0% chance for being qualified if you already have a BA. Pell grants weren't made for people who had the means to/and received a college education.
flame free is flame free, but ignorance and hate (and perpetuating sterotypes you clearly know nothing about) is not OK. show some respect.

i wasn't able to find a job in the field i studied in, so i made due with what i could. and i don't think that people going back for a second degree should get as much $ as people who are going for their first. ive heard that only 33% of people actually have jobs in fields that they studied in college, which prob consists of people where you need certification- doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc.
im offended because your rant basically generalized everyone who received financial aid.
FFW rules on our board have ALWAYS been the same. No matter how much you are offended by something someone says, you don't respond. It's a rule that we have ALL agreed to numerous times in the past. I don't understand why that has changed now.
This isn't P&E and we have all agreed about that.
And having a place to rant without anyone saying anything negative in response is WHY we started doing FFW in the first place.
This is NOT the first post or reply in these threads that has offended someone. And it's by far not the worst thing ever posted.
People will stop posting in FFW and maybe the board entirely if they get attacked for their rants and thoughts.
