Let me start off by saying that the lady who is trying to find me a job is not the nicest person to work with. Lets just say our personalities clash.
She called me this morning and told me about a job that she thought I would be perfect for and is close to my house.
She told me all about the job and asked if I was interested. I said yes, b/c I really am. Then she told me the pay. Then she proceeds to tell me this "Lets be honest with one another. You were making great money at Harp and honestly, there is no way you will be able to make that amount again."
WTF!
Thanks for having my best interest at hand.
Then she says it is immediate start and I would have to start tomorrow. I said I have a prior commitment and that I would feel horrible for backing out last minute.
Then she says well if that is the way you feel I will move onto the next person. I told her that she can't call me and expect me to drop everything and start work the NEXT day. And I think it speaks volumns of my character to not leave someone hanging like that. I explained the situtation and told her I was watching Monica's children and the dumb biiiitttch told me that she was sure Monica could find other arrangements.
In the end, she told me to think it over and call her mid day.
Sad thing is, as much as the job is close to home and sounds perfect I would be taking a $12K loss a year. That is just way to much money. I still have plenty of unemployment left and I am sure there is something that is willing to pay more than $11/hr.
I really hope I am making the right decision. I wonder if I can tell her that I want to work with someone within the Renhill staffing. She really rubbed me the wrong way today.
Re: Renhill Staffing
WTF for sure!!
I know the job market is tough, but that doesn't mean that you should jump on anything that she's pitching to you, no matter what. And seriously, start tomorrow?!?!
Oh, and you got paid a lot because you're really freaking good at what you do, and you at least deserve a fair wage.
Hmph!
Wasn't Renhill who CJ was working for??
That sucks that she is so horrible Ang. I wouldnt tell her, I would call and talk to the person above her. And I personally appluad you for not backnig out on Monica. I think that does say volumes for your character.
Yes... Angi, that doesn't surprise me at all. I worked on the education side, so I placed substitute teachers, but I heard the clerical side all day. I could go on and on about how poorly run that place is. To say I am happy I left would be the understatement of the year. Things have worked out much better since then. And also, I agree that not backing out on Monica definitely shows your true character. And you do deserve at least what you were making if not much more, so don't let that lady talk to you that way... I am stepping off my box before I make this post much, much longer...
Our baby girl!!
Thanks girls. For a hot second I was really doubting myself.
Luckily, something else came up and I have an interview on Thursday!! AT A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY!!!!
Never ever doubt yourself. Ever.
And congrats on the interview!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you! I also say if you get the job and the pay is on par with what you wanted, you should call or email that lady at Renhill and tell her where to stick it...
