c25k peeps: ? about week 1

How many miles did you go? I got back into the program today and when the podcast ended I was just a little shy of 2 miles. Is that about right for week 1? Or should it be 3 and I'm not running/walking fast enough?

Re: c25k peeps: ? about week 1

  • that's about right...

when you get to running the whole time, you'll build up to 3 miles, and it takes roughly the same amount of time, so it makes sense that run/walk would take you less distance than running 100%.

ps - some sites say you can do either time or distance.  i did time and this was my experience.  if you kept distance as a constant, then you would just be doing shorter and shorter workouts each week.

  • ditto purdue. even w/ the 20 minute jog (week 5, i think?) I only went 1.75 mi (or around that much).

  • Thanks, ladies, that's good to know. I run pretty slow, but I was going to work at running faster if I was ending up a whole mile behind. Now I think I'll just work on endurance.
