Oversharing Confession

I forgot to wash my hair this morning.  I didn't dry it all the way because I was in a hurry, so I didn't really notice.  Then while on the subway I touched it and thought, "Eww I must not have washed out my shampoo good enough."  And then I realized....crap.  I forgot to wash it.

I just bought new shampoo and the bottle is too big to keep in the shower caddy, unlike my old one.  Throwing off my routine comes with consequences!

Re: Oversharing Confession

  • Aw man that stinks!  I'm so completely OCD about my showers - everything must be done in exactly the same order every time - that I might have a breakdown if I skipped the shampoo! :-)  Do you have a smaller bottle (maybe the old one) you can allot into?

  • Oh, that is too funny!  BTW, you just reminded me that I need to buy new shampoo and conditioner.

  • I was thinking about pouring it into a travel size container.  But I think that now that I made the mistake once, I have fully incorporated the change in routine.  I washed my hair three times this morning.

  • lol  :)

I haven't washed my hair in DAYS!

If I did, I'd end up with a static-charged, brittle, bird's nest.   My hair is far too curly and dry to handle a daily washing.  Especially in the winter.

That said, I think it's ok if you skip a day.

  • I am not someone that can skip a day, unfortunately.  :(  My hair doesn't seem super oily, really, but by the end of the day it's starting to get icky.  And since it's very fine and straight it gets VERY stringy and looks dirty if I don't wash it - it especially clumps up at the part.  I know people who don't wash their hair every day and I'm a bit jealous, because I know it's actually sort of bad to wash it daily, but I can't get around it if I'm going out in public.

  • Have you tried one of those dry shampoo products?

    I haven't yet, but I think I should.

  • I think that might work, but since I shower ever day I don't mind washing my hair.  And hopefully I won't forget to wash it again!

I know people who have used the dry shampoo with good results.
