Do you beleive in ghosts?

I am pretty sure there is a ghost in my house.  Since I move in 7 years ago strange things have happened.  To name a few: the bathroom sink turned on once by itself, water came out of my kitchen ceiling and the plumber couldn't figure out why, house plants have been wet that I haven't watered in weeks (I am a bad plant mom), I have seen something dark at the top of my stairs a couple of times (so has my dog, he wouldn't stop staring), once I thought I felt my cat kneading the bed by my foot but there was no cat there (it happened 3 times in a row that morning).  Finally, I was woken up night before last by the alarm clock in my stepsons bedroom.  It was going off at midnight.  My stepson hasn't been here in almost 2 weeks.  It scares Jay when I talk about these things but I think it is interesting.  Has anyone else had things like this happen in their homes?  I know there was a post about this a while back but the alarm thing got me thinking about it again.

Re: Do you beleive in ghosts?

  • I used to not believe in them, but now I'm not so sure. I believe there are angels and demons everywhere, and I do believe there are alot of things out there that just can't be explained. We've heard loud bangs in our house but we can't figure out where it comes from and I've heard what sounds like someone walking around upstairs when I'm home alone. ALOT of weird things happen at FIL and MIL's house that we can't explain. Their cat used to stay upstairs, but all of a sudden it refuses to go up there. They had to move its litter box downstairs because it wouldn't go up to use it. They hear things all the time and once when I was there the hall closet door opened by itself.

  • I absolutely do, but I was brought up believing in that stuff. My grandfather was a locally famous (ha) author on the subject of ghosts and demons (very very strong catholic so mostly stuff about the devil and whatnot). He used to be on the BBC, he's been on tv a wackload of times, and there's even a whole building at the closest university named after him.

  • I definitely believe in ghosts. That stuff fascinates me. The only ghost experiences I have had were at my house in college. I SWEAR I saw an orb of light move from one side of my room to the other and I used to always have my hair move or kind of blow on and off my face with no fan or anything on all the time while laying in bed. And completely serious - if I asked them politely to stop messing with my hair; they would. Didn't freak me out too much because they never did anything bad. I totally believe in demons and angels also, but I think I just had a regular ghost who liked my hair Smile
  • I just remembered something! MrsGoontz made me think of it when she was talking about the orbs.

My papaw swears this story is true. When he was little he had two younger sisters who got really sick and were dying. One day his parents sent him and his other siblings to the neighbors house because they didn't want them there when their sisters died. My papaw said they were playing in the house when all of a sudden two balls of light came in through the door and starting floating around the room. He said after a minute or two they disappeared. Later he found out that right at the same time his sisters died is when he saw those balls of light. Papaw's not one to believe in ghosts, but he can't explain that one.

  • Nope, not at all.  I'm pretty much a believer in that when you die, you die.  That's it.

  • no I don't believe. I believe in people who come into my house and try to kill me.
  • I mean, don't get me wrong... I've seen weird stuff, but I'm pretty sure that was just an acid flashback!!!  haha Stick out tongue

  • Yes I believe in something being there that is beyond our understanding. Whatever you decide to call them. We had a post on here a while back about experiences that we have had!

  • Man, I was in California that week for work and didnt read that one. Jenny's stories freaked me out!
  • I definitely believe in something. I don't know if the word is "spirits" or "ghosts" but I know something is out there.

One of my best friends died when I was 19, there are been times since where I swear he was with me. I have felt something super strong surrounding me, and I just know it was him.

Also,  when my grandma was dying she called out that she could see my grandfather. He had been dead for over 20 years. I completely believe that she really did see him and he was there to take her to heaven.

  • Yes I do.  (See linked post)

Always have.  But similar to J, I was kind of brought up believing that there are spirits with us.  Whether they be ghost, angel, demon, etc, I believe that there is often something there.
