Dyson Animal for Hardwood

Does the Dyson Animal blow the cat fur around the room like a regular vacuum?  My cat sheds an incredible amount, sweeping/microfiber isn't enough but the vacuum just blows things away....

Any thoughts?

Re: Dyson Animal for Hardwood

  • it does. My SIL has this, and has hardwood and 6cats... just use a wet mop to catch it all?
  • I have a black lab and on the tile floors, the Dyson Animal picks up all the hair and doesn't blow it around.
  • We have hardwood floors and two cats and only one area rug in the whole house (I'm picky- what can I say?)  What I have found works by far the best is sweeping with a normal broom and carrying around my little hand vacuum to suck up the hair as I sweep.  Works 100x better than the big vacuum.  Then I take a damp rag and use my foot to quickly once over the floor to make sure I got everything and to pick up the little pieces of dirt and dust that the broom doesn't get.  The whole thing takes like five minutes tops.  If I am going to mop, I do it after that.

  • I have an entire house of hardwood floors and the dyson animal vaccum.  you just have to turn the roller off to keep it from pushing it around the house.  I have two dogs (one retriever and one corgy) and two cats (one long & one short haired) and I've never had a problem with hair blowing around the house!
