Boot camp or group training recs
I need a swift kick in the rear please! I need to have alot of structure to get started and back in the game. Personal positive experiences are greatly appreciated! Also if there was a certain trainer that had a great personality, no Jillian michaels please

.
Or if you have any to stay awayfrom I'd love the heads up! You can email me at findyourwayhomeinaustin at gmail dot for privacy.

Re: Boot camp or group training recs
I go to Camp Gladiator, and I love it. I've been going for about 16 months now, and I am getting much faster and stronger. If I could control my eating, I'd be getting thinner. I've also connected with a whole other social group that is focused on staying fit, which is a good motivator.
They have sessions at *** Nichols, Austin High and Zilker that might be convenient to you. This week is Bring a Friend week, so you can check out any session for free, even without me actually being there. You can find locations at www.campgaldiatoraustin.com. Also, this Saturday and next (at Zilker 9:30am near the sand volleyball courts) are free, so just show up and work out and see how you like it.
Have you looked into Power of 6 with Kratai? It's very structured, you sign a contract for 3 months, and you have to turn in food journals, be in the class on time, if not you have to pay a fine. She may be hard to get a hold of, but if you leave a message she will return your call.

Ditto Camp Gladiator. It is awesome. It is very pricey to start, but that one month may really be the swift kick you need- it definitely was for me.
The trainers are great. They are all very encouraging and motivating. They are constantly reminding you that it doesn't matter how fast you go, as long as you don't stop and keep pushing yourself within your own capabilities. Nothing is a competition.
Also, like pp mentioned, the people that go are super friendly and it's very easy to make friends, which in turn makes it easier to go.
love. love. love. Go try it. Seriously.
I'd also ditto on Camp Gladiator -- just did my 4th class tonight. It is expensive, but I've learned that the best way for me to get results is to have someone pushing me for an hour, and it's still way cheaper than a personal trainer. If you're curious about what it's like, I'd say it compares to what you do in Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred program -- stuff that just takes a mat and weights but stil kicks your butt -- except you don't have to deal with her.
There are people at all levels of fitness at Camp Gladiator, and I feel like I'm probably on the lower end of the spectrum, which is kind of intimidating. But the group leaders aren't critical or directly pressuring you at all -- you just do what you can do. The peer pressure is enough to keep me going until I can't go anymore. And you can sit stuff out if it's really too tough.
You should totally check out Tough Cookies! It is a great fitness group for women (of all ages and fitness levels). It is one of my favorite things I do!

If you try it, my name is Jaclyn.
